Biography

Nina Römer (b. 1978 as Nina Tangian in Moscow) studied painting at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under the professors Helmut Federle and A.R. Penck.

Torsten Römer (b. 1968 in Aachen) studied painting at the Kunstakademie Münster under Prof. Udo Scheel and at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under the Professors Rissa, Siegfried Anzinger, Helmut Federle and A.R. Penck.

Nina and Torsten Römer became Master Students at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf together under Prof. A.R. Penck.

In 1998, they joined forces as the artist duo and couple Römer + Römer. They have lived and worked in Berlin since 2000.
